Employees’ strike on DA continues for fourth day

Raipur. The strike of employees , demanding dearness allowance, continued for the fourth day, today. The agitators observed Hareli festival at the site of picketing. The employees of Chhattisgarh assembled in a large number at the agitation site to celebrate Harel. They also performed ritualistic worship and demonstration by climbing a gedi.

According to the decision of Chhattisgarh Staff Officer Federation, the agitation of teachers-employees will continue, until their demand is met.Tthe employees were demanding 34 percent dearness allowance and house rent allowance from the due date, similar to the center. While there was silence in the government offices, the teachers and employees of the state took collective leave and demonstrated in their respective development blocks and district headquarters. This strike is being done on the call of Chhattisgarh Employees-Officers Federation.

Yashwant Singh Verma, Provincial General Secretary of Chhattisgarh Teachers Association said that the employees of the state are getting 12 percent dearness allowance and seven percent house rent allowance less, due to which each employee is incurring a loss of five thousand to 18 thousand rupees per month. This has created resentment among the teachers and employees of the state. The agitating employees from the Budha Talab sit-in site of Raipur said that if the demands are not fulfilled by the administration in time, then in future there will be an indefinite shutdown movement
