CG needs assistance as Raipur likely to become cargo hub, says CM Baghel in Central Zone meeting

Bhopal.. several important decisions regarding SC/ST, tribal, farmer welfare, crime against women and children were made in the Central Zonal Council meting held here recently Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the meeting of the Central Zonal Council in Bhopal in which the Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh participated through online mode as they could not reach the capital of Madhya Pradesh due to heavy rains. The Central Zonal Council comprises of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived here on Sunday to attend the meeting. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel digitally attended the meeting as they could not reach due to heavy rains. An official of the council said that the Narendra Modi government has been holding regular meetings of regional councils as part of its overall strategy to strengthen and promote cooperative and competitive federalism in the country. There are five regional councils in the country, which were constituted in 1957 under Section 15-22 of the States Reorganization Act 1956. The Union Home Minister is its chairman and the chief minister of the state hosting the meeting is its vice-president.
Participating in the meeting Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said the state needs more assistance as the Raipur airport is going to become a cargo hub very soon. Baghel said that our constitution has called India a union of states. Therefore, the state has its own role and authority in this. We have celebrated the glorious 75th anniversary of independence. With this maturity, now the thinking should be made even at the highest policy regulatory levels that the states should be given full confidence and appropriate rights should be given to the state governments for development according to the local conditions of the states. Raipur airport will become a cargo hub. Central government will declare minimum support price of Kodo, Kutki, decision on the request of Chhattisgarh government. organic compost made under Godhan Nyay Yojana will be given the benefit of Nutrition Based Subsidy on the lines of chemical fertilizer.
