Centre is dealing strictly with Maoist outfits, asserts Union Home Minister

Bhopal. Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the 23rd meeting of the Central Zonal Council in Bhopal yesterday. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the meeting, while Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath and Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel attended the meeting through virtual medium due to bad weather.

Addressing the meeting, the Union Home Minister said, our government is dealing strictly with the problem of Left Wing Extremism in the Naxalite affected areas included in the Central Zonal Council. He added that many important steps have also been taken for development in these areas and they have yielded good results. Sharing the comparative details about incidents, violence and number of deaths, Mr Shah said the Central Government is continuously strengthening security forces in Left Wing Extremism-affected areas.

The Union Home Minister also said, more the development in Naxal-affected areas, the less will be the recruitment of Naxalites and the sources of mobilization of Left Wing Extremists will also be exhausted. Mr Shah urged Naxal-affected states to focus more on dealing with this problem so that it can be rooted out. Home Minister also inaugurated police houses and administrative buildings in Madhya Pradesh. He laid foundation stone for Bhopal campus of National Forensic Science University. During his hectic visit to the capital of Madhya Pradesh, the Union Home minister addressed two seminars on new education policy and role of cooperative societies in the agricultural marketing.
