Baghel said, the fishermen have started getting all the facilities like farmers. With this, the fishermen of the state will move forward faster, the standard of living will also improve and will move ahead in the field of fisheries in the whole country.

After the completion of the land allotment process to the fishermen community, he talked about helping them to build a well-equipped building for the society. The Chief Minister also administered oath to the newly elected office bearers of the fishermen society.

The Chief Minister said that the average fish productivity of our state has reached 4000 metric tonnes per hectare. Progressive fish farmers have started producing 8000 to 10,000 metric tonnes per hectare by rearing improved species. The nature and environment of Chhattisgarh is completely conducive to fish farming. He has said that the geographical position of our state is also such that there is a lot of potential for fisheries business here. Now a favorable environment for fish is available in the state. This effort is being made by the government to increase fish production. Now along with villages, big dams are also being used for fish farming. Even in the courtyard of the house, you can do fish farming by making a tank. He said that a provision has been made to provide 40 percent grant-in-aid to fish farmers on a unit of Rs 7.50 lakh to promote fisheries with bio-floc technology. The Chief Minister said that the schemes made by the government for the fishermen community should be prepared and distributed to the members of the society by making pamphlets and giving information about it in social meetings.

Chief Minister Baghel said that for fish farming in the state, water supply was required through canal from irrigation dams and reservoirs in an area of 30,000 hectares, for which fish farmers had to pay a fee of Rs.4 for 10,000 cubic feet of water. But now there is no need to pay them a single penny. Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said that since the formation of our government, it has been the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel that the traditional fishermen society should be given priority over the fishery pond sources of the villages.
