CM Bhupesh Baghel launches purchase of cow-urine to mark Hareli

Raipur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the purchase of cow-urine in the state on the occasion of Hareli festival, at his official residence yesterday. On this occasion, The Chief Minister became the first seller of the state by selling 5 liters of cow-urine for Rs 20 to the Nidhi Self-help Group of Chandkhuri. Nidhi Self-Help Group donated this amount to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

With this initiative, Chhattisgarh has become the first state in the country, which ad started purchasing cow-dung from villagers and now it is now purchasing cow-urine also. Earlier, the Chief Minister worshiped agricultural equipments and wished for the prosperity of the state. The Chief Minister fed the cow-mother with fodder and worshiped her. He also distributed bonus worth of Rs.17 crore to 7442 women self-help groups producing organic fertilizers of the state.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that in view of the multi-dimensional results of Godhan Nyaya Yojana, many states of the country have started adopting it. Under this scheme, rich or poor, all are selling cow-dung in their cowsheds. In the last two years, an amount of more than Rs 300 crore has been transferred to the accounts of cow-dung vendors, Gauthan committees and women’s groups through Godhan Nyaya Yojana. He said that in Chhattisgarh, agriculture should be prosperous, farmers should be happy, it is our effort. The use of organic fertilizers and organic pesticides in farming will reduce the cost of farming. The quality of food will be better, due to which the health of public life will be better.
