CM Bhupesh Baghel greets SHG members houred in Singapopre
Raipur. Women of self-help groups honored at the ESG Grit Awards ceremony in Singapore met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in his office in the Legislative Assembly here. Chief Minister Baghel congratulated and congratulated the groups of Van Dhan Kendras including the State Minor Forest Produce Association for their important achievement. Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, and senior officers of the state governmente were also present on this occasion.
On being asked by Chief Minister, Padmini Baghel, a member of Mother Dharini Karin Self-Help Group Bakavand Van Dhan Kendra, told that she gave information about the entire processing process of her Bakwand cashew in the award ceremony. He told the Chief Minister that now his group has taken its first step from its small world to a bigger world. Saroj Patel, a member of Haribol Self-Help Group Donganala, Van Dhan Kendra, told that she told the entire process from the collection of forest medicines to their processing and sale by her group in the ceremony. The women told the Chief Minister that Singapore is very beautiful. There he saw the zoo, the park, the sea, Hollywood as well as the greenery of the city.
Congratulating them, Chief Minister Baghel said that all of you got an opportunity to go abroad because of your work. Got a chance to visit Singapore after leaving the jungle. Earlier officers used to take leaders to foreign countries, now they are taking you people, this has happened for the first time.
It may be noted that two women self-help groups of Jagdalpur and Korba including Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association were rewarded at the ESG Grit Award ceremony held on 22nd and 23rd July in Singapore. The state has achieved this important achievement at the international level in the field of minor forest produce processing, under which Chhattisgarh has received international award for sustainable development, poverty alleviation and women empowerment. This is probably the first time after the formation of the state of Chhattisgarh, when the members of the women’s self-help group traveled abroad to receive an international prestigious award.
